TICK, TICK... BOOM!

Adirondack Theatre Festival

Before the revolutionary rock musical  Rent, Jonathan Larson had another story to tell... his own.  In this autobiographical earlier work, Jon is a promising young composer on the eve of his 30th birthday, still waiting tables and trying to write the great American musical before time, and life, passes him by.

BOOMing energy and talent!  As staged by Gabriel Barre, Jonathan Larson’s tick, tick... BOOM!  is a truly exciting show.  The unique scenic design by David Esler is brilliantly conceived to add excitement.  ...It’s a wonderful piece of theatre and a glorious way for David Turner and Martha Banta to make their exit from ATF.

Tick, tick... BOOM! is rich with humor and the performances luminous.  With strong direction by Gabriel Barre, the show zips by.   The set design by David Esler includes projection design by Dustin O’Neill.  Both conjure the grunge and glory of a young Broadway hopeful’s life.
